| In 1976 Rick began his firefighting career as a fire dept. summer student. In 1978 he graduated from Sir Sanford Fleming College as a Forest Technician with particular interest in Wildland Fire Fighting. In Sept of 1978 Rick started with Safety Supply in Sales and in March 1979 was hired as a volunteer Fire Fighter in his home town. Dual duty soon became only one when he was hired as a full time fire fighter in 1980. His safety back ground soon became an asset and he was elected chair of OH&S. Progressing through the ranks including, Captain, Training Officer, District Chief to his current rank of Platoon Chief, Rick is well respected in the industry, a graduate of the Ontario Fire College and has an Honours diploma from Seneca College in Fire Fighter Emergency Service and Rescue. In 1995 a sales opportunity came about for his off duty time and he was quickly hired by M&L Supply as a sales rep and Wildland equipment specialist. | |
