“It is unwise to pay too much but it is worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money – that’s all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little for a lot – it can’t be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better”               John Ruskin 1819-1900

So how do you get quality for a fair price and still get service on what you bought? That is what M&L Supply laid its corner stone on over 22 years ago.

As I go around the province I recall my days behind the desk as a Platoon Chief ordering fire equipment. I try my best now to treat all my customers the way I wanted to be treated back then.

I got a call today before writing this blog from a customer. He was looking for a product that we do not sell. I had positive personal experience with the product and I knew where he could get it. I let him know my experience, where to get the product and how much he could expect to pay. Did I get this sale? Well……..no. But, I will get phone calls again and again and again when he needs something else.

Added value. Did I save this Chief some time sourcing the product? You know it!

My point is: If you want a quality product supported by exceptional service, you have to pay fair market value. Choose wisely! Not only the product, but the sales rep and the “Company You Keep”!
